Strategic Biofuels has assembled an experienced management team with more than 200 years of combined experience in the energy, chemical, oil and gas industries. The team has a proven track record in finance, project and technology development, operations, fuels trading and renewable fuels credits.

Dr Paul F. Schubert

Chief Executive Officer

Paul has over 35 years of experience in the petrochemical and renewable fuels industry. He served as COO and Executive Director for Velocys, a publicly traded company on the London AIM exchange. He was responsible for the development and deployment of Velocys’ FT technology and the Envia Energy plant that converted landfill gas to renewable diesel and wax products. He was also responsible for development of woody biomass or municipal solid waste into renewable diesel and jet fuel.

Bob meredith

COO

Bob has 47 years of experience in the oil and gas industry as a Petroleum Engineer for Chevron Oil and others and has owned and operated several independent oil and gas companies with significant operations in Louisiana and Mississippi. His career experience includes responsibility for both onshore and offshore projects, drilling multiple wells exceeding 18,000’ in depth, and overseeing numerous oil and gas property transactions. He is a recognized expert witness in oil and gas matters in civil litigation, and was both a founder and the Chairman of the Louisiana Oil & Gas Association

Paul Oesterreich

vp Project Development

Paul has over 35 years of experience in the energy industry with particular emphasis on refined and renewable fuels trading and marketing. He is responsible for Sales and Marketing of the physical fuels and renewable credits including product offtaker relationship development and contracting, outbound supply chain, product  transportation, and trading and valuation of federal and state credits. He is further responsible for managing the woody biomass feedstock.

Dr. Victor Filatov

Executive Financial Officer

Victor Filatov was one of the first people to join Strategic Biofuels in 2020 in the role of Chief Financial Officer. Victor’s identification and development of the SEC approved Keep It Simple Security (KISS) as a means of financing the LGF Project has allowed us to advance our work effectively and rapidly.  Victor has assumed the role of Executive Financial Advisor and will now be able to focus on the complex and multifaceted financial areas that are crucial for us to obtain full funding of our current engineering phase (FEL-3), as well as achieving financial close for LGF in late 2023. In this new role, Victor will continue to report to the CEO.

 

Bradley Jones

Senior advisor

Bradley has over 25 years experience in infrastructureprojects in Louisiana. He is the owner of Louisiana Bridge, Inc., which was founded in 1980, and has a stellar reputation for high quality workmanship and competitive pricing. Louisiana Bridge is licensed in Heavy, Highway, Street, and Bridge Construction, Municipal and Public Works, and Specialty Construction. The majority of their work consists of Federal and State projects and the remaining work is through local and private engineering contracts.

Bob Freerks

VP of Products

Dr. Robert Freerks has over 30 years of experience in the formulation and development of FT synthetic fuels, synthetic lubricants, oil-based lubricants, oil and fuel additive packages and biofuels. Dr. Freerks has most recently provided support services to Fulcrum BioEnergy which is building plants to convert Municipal Solid Waste to renewable jet fuel. He has provided similar support to USA BioEnergy. Dr. Freeks has served in leadership roles in fuel and lubricant production from Fischer-Tropsch processes with Velocys, Rentech, and Syntroleum Corporation. At Syntroleum, he developed synthetic jet fuel produced via the FT synthesis and hydro processing technology. He worked closely with the Department of Defense to qualify the fuel for military aircraft and equipment under the JBUFF program (Joint Battlespace Use Fuel of the Future).

Dan Jackson

Chief Financial Officer

Dan has been with our company since October 2021 in the role of VP of Commercial Development. He has now assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer. Dan has over 30 years’ experience across the C-Level and as an advisor/director with venture capital backed pre-revenue start-ups to public multi-office international organizations with over $400 million in annual sales.  Prior to joining Strategic Biofuels, Dan served as the COO and CFO of Epic Wireless Group, a wireless and EV charging infrastructure company.  He has also served as the COO and CFO of three companies in the Biodiesel and Anaerobic Digestion space, one of which was based in Germany.  Dan has served across multiple industries, with experience in IT services/tech, financial services technology, cleantech, and wireless infrastructure support.  He also has significant experience with complex transactions, having been involved in over 100 M&A transactions, multiple restructurings and over 30 capital raising transactions.  Dan has a BS in Finance, Cum Laude, from The Ohio State University and a JD from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School.

Steve Walkinshaw

VP of Geosciences

Steve Walkinshaw, VP of Geosciences, brings with him 40 years of experience in oil & gas exploration and development. He is responsible for the geology as it relates to carbon sequestration and has been working together with Strategic Biofuels since November 2020.

 He performed the initial seismic analysis for the project and has worked directly with our COO Bob Meredith and Geostock Sandia in developing and executing the sequestration test well program and the ongoing analysis required for submission of the EPA Class VI well permit.

 Steve is the owner and manager of Vision Exploration, LLC and graduated from Millsaps College in 1981. As an adjunct professor, Steve has also taught Petroleum Geology at Millsaps College.  He is a Registered Professional Geologist in the State of Mississippi, a Licensed Professional Geoscientist in the State of Louisiana, and an AAPG/DPA Certified Petroleum Geologist.

Daniel Robinson

Controller

Daniel Robinson has been supporting the company since August of 2021 as a CPA and has since been promoted to Controller. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He has worked in public accounting for 16 years concentrating on business consulting and tax planning. He has extensive experience in tax accounting, cost accounting, asset management accounting, and small business accounting. Daniel is Licensed by the state of Louisiana as a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Global Management Accountant, by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Amy Hale

Senior Accountant

Amy Hale has been supporting the company since August of 2021. Amy has degrees in both Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and over 20 years of professional experience.  After several roles as a business manager and accountant for various entities, Amy formed her own business in 2013 and has provided accounting and tax services to a variety of clients, primarily in the healthcare industry. 

 

Ken Roberts

VP of Commercial Development &
Community Benefit Programs

Ken Roberts is VP of Commercial Development and Community Benefit programs for the Louisiana Green Fuels project and brings more than 40 years of experience to the team. Prior to joining the Strategic Biofuels team Mr. Roberts was formerly President and General Manager of ENVIA Energy, a gas-to-liquids JV including Waste Management, NRG and Velocys that developed and operated the world’s first commercial GTL renewable fuels plant using landfill gas as feedstock. Mr. Roberts’ broad technical and financial background in executive management positions enables him to tackle complex commercial issues and formulate creative solutions quickly from a variety of perspectives. Mr. Roberts holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Finance/Strategic Planning from the University of Texas.
